The author

GinaG

Mother. Fighter. Writer — because the story needed to exist in the world.

GinaG is a South African author based in Cape Town. Unconditional is her first memoir, born from years of navigating the intersection of love, institutions, and a system that was not built for families like hers.

She writes about the things parents are told to whisper about in waiting rooms — mental health, complex children, foster and adoptive parenting, the cost of advocacy. She believes sunlight is still the best disinfectant, and that shame should never be the price of loving a difficult child.
